1-Day Virginia Little League Umpire Outreach Clinic

When: 14 March 2026, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Where: South Run Recreation Center (Field House), 7550 Reservation Dr, Springfield, VA 22153

Who: Baseball and Softball Volunteer Umpires, Coaches, Parents, Siblings, Anyone wanting to learn more about umpiring Little League. Must be at least 16 years old.

Cost: $25/$35, Lunch and water provided

Course Description: The Little League 1-Day Outreach Clinic will be led by members of the Little League National Instructor Team and seeks to help umpires of all experience levels learn the fundamentals of umpiring Little League Baseball and Softball.  Instruction will focus on The Role of the Little League Umpire, the Basics of Working the Plate, Field Mechanics, Working the 2-Umpire System and leverage on-field drills and simulations to introduce, apply, and reinforce the concepts presented.

All umpires are STRONGLY encouraged to join the Little League Umpire Registry.

Signing up for the Registry is FREE and gets you access to the clinic registrations and other training info.
Applications for umpires for Regional and World Series Tournaments are also processed through the registry.


Umpires are also encouraged to complete their annual background check requirement through the registry website.  There is a nominal $5 fee, but you only need to fill it out once and then select the leagues you umpire.
